Atkinson Memorial

Commissioned as a memorial for Susan Atkinson, who was lost at sea in a sailing accident, this bronze whale’s tail sits on a hill overlooking the Hudson Valley in New York. Her partner told the story in a book he wrote about the experience called “Dark Wind.”
